I natt drømte jeg den mest behagelige drøm jeg har hatt på lenge. Temaet var, -herregud-, gult..
Jeg var altså i en hage, med bare gule blomster. Og de var så vakre at jeg ikke har klart å få alle av netthinna ennå.
Plutselig ser jeg bare at en hemerocallis 'Golden Chimes' fort kan bli en må-ha plante. Jeg synes narcisser er fine, men har hittil vært tilbakeholden. Kanskje jeg bare må be pent om å få en tur til på Plantasjen i år, der er det nå halv pris på alle løk, blant annet store pakker med mix av sånn ca disse. I løkstativet sto også noe som lignet på Iris danfordiae, øverst på denne siden (og der var det mange andre fine også..)
Jeg drømte også om erythronium 'Pagoda', uvularia grandiflora (som jeg har kjøpt allerede), eschscholzia californica, og kirengeshoma palmata og mange andre fantastiske lekkertgule blomster.
Hvordan skal jeg overleve dette? Var det ikke nok at jeg skulle plutselig å behov for oransje tulipaner?

Last night I dreamt about yellow flowers, the most beautiful garden packed with nothing but yellow flowers.
I'm not particularly fond of yellow, but I suddenly feel the need for yellow crocuses and daylilies, and daffodils. I'm a little confused now, am I about to let yellow in to my garden?

Yellow is my least favourite colour.
I would throw out the yellow crayon in my box of Crayola crayons as a kid.
Yet, friends mention how often yellow appears in my garden and photos - weird. Subconsciously the right yellow in the right situation wins out.
Maybe that's what your dream is saying,too:)

Eg er heller ikkje glad i gult, men på ein eller annan måte har eg klart å anlegge eit bed i gult, oransje og rødt i sommar. Og veit du - eg er kjempefornøyd med det! Er det ikkje godt at me kan forandre oppfatning om ting? Det gjør livet meir spennande!
Jag är inte heller någon älskare av gult, men som dröm låter den helt fantastisk! Men sparsmakat med gult (själv föredrar jag blekgult) kan ge en fin varmare ton bland mycket vitt, blått och lila!
The golden crocus are very cheery for spring. Perhaps a few drops of golden sunshine yellow will brighten the garden.
I, too, have very little yellow in my garden, but I got the idea to plant a large patch of purple crocus by a large patch of yellow crocus under the lilac tree. However, you have to decide your bulb purchases early, or you are searching for what is left late in the season.
That sounded like a smashing combination! I look forward to see a picture of your crocus patch ;)
I have noticed that there are lots of yellow flower bulbs left in stores at discounted prices. I will let them go this year, though it is very tempting... No!
In my former garden I wouldn't allow any yellow, except for the bright greenish yellow of Patrinia scabiosifolia (I asked a friend if I should remove even that and was advised to keep it). Now that I have a new garden surrounded by dark woods, I find I need bright colors like yellow, and I have quite a bit, mostly Rudbeckia maxima and Rudbeckia nitida 'Herbstsonne'. I suppose my color preferences depend on the surrounding environment.
I wish I could read Norwegian. You house and garden appear to be very far north. What kind of climate do you have?

Mid temperature in july is approximately 12 °C and in winter it can be down to –20 °C, with mid temp at -5 in january. The winter is long with snow from november to the end of april, and the summer is short and not very warm. This summer has been cold, only a couple of days with temperatures above +20 and strong cold winds from the Arctic sea have not made it any better..
Here in Norway we have hardiness zones from H1(mild) to H8(cold) I'm in H6/7, if that can give you an idea.
And yes, I think that's one of the reasons why I suddenly need yellow. I too need something that can brighten up the woodland :)
Ja visst är gula blommor fint i klungor tillsammans med rosa. Lite kan man ju ha i sin trädgård.
Det finns ju många nyanser av gult om det är långblommande sorter.
Det var en bra idee att köpa för halva priset det skall jag titta efter när det blir dax
